LIFE IS A DRAG - By Dave Mance
I think I
jinxed us by saying how great the weather has been, and then we
end up with two rainouts in two weeks. So with no racing, I have
no results.
We
had the track set up and ready to go except for setting the tree
up and spraying the line. It was one of those deals that if you
set it all up, it would rain. If you don’t set it up, then you
would rush to get it set up just before we race. Therefore,
I DID go ahead and set up the tree and sprayed the line thinking
we might just get lucky. I proceeded to the office to get my
radio and headset and walked out the door and it started to
sprinkle! We lined up the street cars on the starting line
to protect it from the rain and all it did was rain even harder.
At around 5:00 P.M. we made the decision to cancel the show and
all we can do is pray for better weather next weekend.
By
the time you read this, we would have run our show for the 21st
with double points for Super Pro and Modified combined. Next
week I will (hopefully) have the results of that race for you.
We also decided to do our “box/no-box shoot-out” on Saturday,
August 18th, 2007. I will have a new flyer
posted on the website as soon as I get it which should be within
the next week. Well, I’m off to dinner with my wife as
there are not too many Saturday nights I get off during the
summer, so have a great week and I’ll see you at the track.
