LIFE IS A DRAG - By Dave Mance
It took two
months, but we knew it had to happen sooner or later…RAIN! To
bad it had to happen on the day we had planned for the “box/no-box
shoot-out” on the Fourth of July. It was looking pretty dreary
in the morning with the prediction of rain and thunderstorms in
the afternoon, so John White and I decided rather than to have
cars there and send them home, we decided to cancel and reschedule
the event at a later time. We will be advertising when the
shoot-out will be; hopefully, within the next few weeks.
Saturday the 30th
turned out to be another good night for racing (and a wedding) and
things went well. I wasn’t there, but with the great crew of
Starr, Jeremy, Kyle, Phil, Roger, and the tower gang taking over
the reins, the race was completed without a hitch. So here are the
results thanks to Melaina:
Super Pro - 1st
place – Mike Adam, Webster
2nd place –
Chuckie White, Ontario
3rd place – Joe
Ragusa, Rochester
4th place – Dave
Burnham, Lyons
Modified - 1st
place – Sam Capizzi Sr., Rochester
2nd place –
Wesley Cayea, Williamson
3rd place – Dan
VanDeWalle, Newark
4th place – Matt
Himes, Ontario
Street - 1st place
– Sam Capizzi Jr., Rochester
2nd place –
Peter D’Angelo, Rochester
3rd place – John
Cira Jr., Rochester
4th place – TJ
Parks, Ontario
(No Gamblers were
run that evening due to time constraints.)
Again, thanks to
Melaina, I have a report for the “good luck” and “hard luck”
drivers. This past week’s award for the good luck goes to Sam
Capizzi Sr. who bought back after losing 1st round and won the
Modified class. The hard luck award goes to Mike DeLooze who broke
the rear end of his car during time trials and didn’t even get a
chance to make it into the eliminations.
Don’t forget
that July 14th is “DOUBLE POINTS” night for the Super Pro
class. I will be announcing other double points nights for the
other classes in the near future. I hope to see you at the races
on Saturday and hope that the Super Pro guys did well in Lebanon
Valley at the Divisional race.
