LIFE IS A DRAG
By Dave Mance
Mother Nature hasn’t been kind
to us so far this race season. Out of the past eight weeks we have
had four rain outs, however, this Saturday we were able to pull
off our $800.00 Super Pro win. The day started off beautiful. The
crew and I had everything set up and had just laid down the second
spray of track grip when the skies opened up with (you guessed it)
more rain! We had driver’s pull their trucks and trailers up on
the starting line to try and keep the line dry, but it rained so
hard that it still got totally soaked. To our surprise the rain
stopped and then it was mass chaos to get the track dry in time to
race.
With the help of my great crew,
drivers, and spectators, we managed to dry the track in plenty of
time to pull off the whole show. We had a few “issues” through
the night but managed to finish by curfew (11:30 P.M.). We did not
finish the finals in Super Pro (due to the stupid rain again), so
the two drivers were sportsmen and took the first and second place
prize money and split it between them. Here are the final results
from Saturday, June 21, 2008:

June 28th was our double points
for Street (Fran Monica Memorial race). I will post those results
in the next issue. We will be racing on July 5th (no Holiday
weekend for us). That will be double points for the Modified class
in memory of Jeff Traas. We will be having a special Friday night
race on July 11th due to a Stock Car Touring Group that will be in
Town on our regularly scheduled Saturday night to race.
In the meantime, drive safe and we
need MORE Motorcycles, so bring them down!
