Press
Release: June 20th, 2007
By Dave Mance
Now that summer is officially
here, maybe we can get some good weather to race, ha, ha!!
Saturday, June 16th, turned out to be another good
night for racing at Spencer Speedway. The only real problem
we had was with the pre-stage light that Kyle and I finally fixed
by removing the bee and the cotton in the laser tube on the
starting line eye beam. We had a good car count (about 100)
so it made for a long night, but we got to enjoy the Town of
Ontario’s fireworks along with the show. So, here are the
results:
Super Pro - 1st
place – Eric Beckens, Sodus
2nd
place – Dean Olshewski, Williamson
3rd
place – Paul Kelsch, Ontario
4th
place – Sam Capizzi Jr., Rochester
Modified - 1st
place – Anthony Platania, Rochester
2nd
place – Sam DeMareo, Ontario
3rd
place – Mike McGrath, Rochester
4th
place – Joe Skertic, Willingboro, New Jersey
Street - 1st
place – Daniel French, Seneca Falls
2nd
place – Dominic Tortoretti, Rochester
3rd
place – John Cira, Jr., Rochester
4th
place – Gary French, Seneca Falls
No Gamblers due to car count,
third time trial and driver’s meeting.
This weeks “good luck”
driver’s award goes to Sam DeMareo who bought back in and wound
up runner up in the modified class. My “hard luck”
driver’s award goes to George Smith Jr., who, in his first
outing in a year, wound up with a broken transmission.
We will be having a Fourth of July “box/no-box”
shoot-out with the top prize in each class being $750.00 (with 100
car count). The entry fee for this race only will be $50.00.
Gates will open at 10:30 A.M. and time trials will start at 12
Noon. The track will be secured by 5:30 P.M. Flyers
are being handed out to our track and other track’s and will
also be posted on the Spencer Speedway website, along with a
picture of the trophy for the top winner. If you need any
additional information please feel free to contact me directly.
(I’m in the book). See you on Saturday!
