2010 STREET STOCK RULES

Street Stock Amendment: 
Only paper air filters will be allowed. No air induction, ducts, baffles, tubes or funnels which may control the air leading to air filter.

BODY AND CHASSIS:

1. Open to all two door North American made steel bodied passenger cars from 1974 or newer with a 108" wheel base minimum. No pony or sport cars. Must be full tube rear housing.

2. Car body and overall appearance must retain all stock dimensions. Altered body lines will be significant reason for disqualification. The body may not be lowered on the frame. The body must be mounted in original factory location in relation to the frame. All body components must maintain year and model of the rest of the car. Frame must remain stock front to rear. Rear may be reinforced, but must remain stock. Rear may be crossed. Stock dimension windshield pillars must be retained. Windshield pillars and windshield angle must remain stock. Steel bodies only, no fiberglass bodies aloud.

3. All glass , including windshield, must be removed. Windshield must have 4- 3 inch tabs( 2 on top, 2 on bottom) and 2 inter center braces. Windshield must be replaced by Lexan.

4. Body molding including door handles must be removed.

5. Interior of the car must be completely stripped. Driver must sit in stock position. Pedals must be in stock position. Floor must be stock front to rear. Rusted areas may be replaced with 22- gauge steel.

6. Battery must be anchored and mounted inside a spill proof container outside of the driver's compartment and not behind the rear axle.

7. Front firewall must be original steel with all the holes covered with no less than 20- gauge steel, and must remain in the original position and location. Rear firewall must be completely closed off from the trunk compartment with 20- gauge steel, which must be riveted or welded.

8. No cock pitting of driver's compartment. Right side floor may not be any higher than the transmission tunnel.

9. Front inner fender panels may be removed.

10. Stock front and rear bumpers must be in original location. No bracing outside of the bumper. You may use plastic nose and tail panels only.

11. All uni-body cars must have a minimum 2 inch sub frame. The sub frame must be no less then .120 wall thickness.

12. No cowl hoods or hood scoops. No bolts or other supports to raise the center of hood at windshield side. No air boxes of any kind. 2 Inch cowl hood for air cleaner (2101 is taller) lower air filter bottom is allowed to gain clearance. Must be closed off at windshield.

13. Body panels are not to go below frame rails on any part of the car.

14. Any added weight must be painted white with car number in black or dark color.

15. Car must have full frame front to rear as it come from factory.

16. Radiator must have an overflow can mounted securely, one gallon minimum. Radiator must be stock type. NO ANTIFREEZE ALOUD!!

17. Driver's side 1" web net with a quick release is mandatory. Mesh nets are prohibited.

18. Steel drive shafts only

19. Single viewing surface mirrors allowed, must be the same dimension as the factory original.

20. All cars must be neatly painted and professionally lettered. Numbers 00-99, 2 digits only. No letters. Numbers must be 18" high.

21. All teams must have and maintain a one-way radio/ scanner for direct communication with the Spencer Speedway tower. This helps with positioning and safety. TRACK RADIO- 154.600.

22. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A WORKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN EASY REACH OF THE DRIVER OR TRACK CREW, 2 ½ LBS. MINIMUM.

ENGINE:
1. Stock unaltered engine and transmission combination. Including all engine accessories except air filters and valve covers. Any diameter front engine pulleys allowed (v-belt types only).

2. Engine must match make and model of car used. All engine blocks must be standard production. Blocks must have stock external and internal measurements. No V6 engines allowed

3. Engine maximum displacement: 
Ford 351 c.i. maximum overbore .060 
GM 350 c.i. maximum overbore .060 
Mopar 360 c.i. maximum overbore .020

4. Engine must be in stock factory location. Frame may not be notched for fuel pump clearance.

5. All cars must be self starting. Not push starts.

6. Crankshaft height is 15".

7. Aftermarket crankshafts may be used if the are a direct replacement for stock. Minimum weight is 50 lbs. No scalloped counterweights. No reduced diameter counterweights. No gun drilled crankshafts. Stock factory OEM bearing diameters only. Normal balancing , with drilling perpendicular to main journals only. Stroke must remain stock.

8. Pistons: Aftermarket stock type pistons may be used. No internal heat coatings or thermal barriers. GM Engines must use stock OEM type flat top or dished pistons. No domed pistons allowed. All Ford and Chrysler must use OEM equivalent 9-1 CR pistons.

9. All engines must use stock OEM production crank, rods, and block. After market connecting rods may be used if they are a direct replacement for stock OEM in length and weight. Rod must meet or exceed the factory stock weight of the rod it replaces.

10. Extra capacity oil pans allowed. Oil pan must have an inspection hole 1 1/4 inches. Must be unobstructed. Located 9 ½ inches from rear of block base or 4 ½ inches from front block base, 1 1/4 inches from oil pan rail. Side kick out oil pans will be allowed. Side rails must be exposed. No thru bolt pans.

11. Cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds must be factory stock OEM production cast iron only. No angle milling of heads. No offset locator pins.  All valve seats and bowl work must be machine cut concentric to valve guide with pilot. No undercut valves allowed. Heads must have stock internal and external measurements. Not marine or truck manifolds. No epoxy or fillers to be used in manifolds or heads. Screw in or pinned studs allowed, 70cc minimum head allowed. No Chevy angle plugs. NO boss Ford, or Chryslers Hemi's, or Pontiac Ram Air heads allowed. NO 305 Chevrolet heads allowed, except on 305 c.i. engines.

12. No engine oil coolers. Transmission oil cooler must have mechanical connections. No hose clamps!!

13. Exhaust pipes must extend behind the driver's door. No H-pipes or cross over exhaust. Exhaust must be right and left. LOBAC MUFFLERS ARE REQUIRED. No muffler no racing!!

14. Factory throttle cable linkage allowed. Dual return springs mandatory.

15. Street headers will be allowed with following clarifications: A) 1 5/8 tube only. B) No step headers! C) No homemade headers D) over the counter header for chassis only

16. Compression ratio must not exceed 9.5:1 for 2010 Season

17. Camshaft: Any hydraulic cam may be used. Stock OEM diameter hydraulic lifters must be used (.842 diameter for Chevy). No roller lifters. Roller rockers or roller tip rockers are  allowed. Lifter bores must not be indexed. Lifter bores must remain stock. Sleeves are not allowed. Stud girdles allowed

18. Rocker arm ratio on Chevy- 1:5 only. Fords may use 1:6 ratio. Stud girdles allowed.

19. Valves maximum intake diameter 1.94 inches, maximum exhaust 1.50 inches. Valves must be stock steel. No PRO-flow valves, no titanium, etc.. Steel retainers only.

20. Carburetor must be factory stock only with a maximum throttle plate opening of 1 11/16". Throttle plate may be drilled to help engine idle fuel mixing. No thinning of throttle shafts or riveting of throttle plates. The shafts must have stock type screws in throttle pates with at least one thread protruding through throttle shaft. No marine or truck venturi clusters may be used. Only choke plate may be removed. Any JETS are ok. Brass floats are ok. Holly 4412 is optional with the removal of the choke plate. Carburetor adapter with gaskets, maximum height is 1.130". Carburetor adapter may not be altered angle milled. Two straight holes only bored perpendicular to the top maximum size 1.750". No HP HOLLY CARBURETORS. No HP holly metering blocks. Stock passenger car air cleaners only. No tongues. Air cleaner may be 3 pieces only, base filter element, and solid top covering diameter of element.

21. Cast iron intake manifold (TWO BARREL ONLY) . Manifolds must not be cut below carburetor (to open up intake to allow cross flow between intake inlets. MUST BE STOCK!! No center dump manifolds allowed. 2101 manifold (Ford manifoldEDL-2181) allowed. new style only. No paint or coating of any kind.

IGNITION:
1. Only stock OEM HEI ignition allowed. After market distributor cap and rotor allowed. Stock ignition modules may be replaced with MSD# 8364 or pro camp # ML-482 circuit board modules. Ignition coils must be factory stock replacement. After market ignition wires may be used.

TRANSMISSION:
1. Only stock production, automatic transmission for year and model of car is allowed. Power glide transmissions will be allowed as an optional transmission with the following gear ratios only: 1.76 ratio V8 transmission or 1.82 ratio 6 cyl. transmission. No other ratios allowed. No high performance or special order transmissions allowed. NO MODIFYING OF TRANSMISSION IN ANY MANNER IS ALLOWED!! Reverse gear must be in working order.

2. All cars must have stock, unaltered OEM V8 cylinder torque converter with a stall speed between 1500-2300 RPMs. Stall speed will be checked with car in gear, on the ground measured with a tachometer. 11 & 12 torque converters only. Gear Rule is the 308 Gears

WHEELS AND TIRES:
1. Street stock steel wheels only. Maximum width of 8". No more than 1 inch off set difference between any 2 wheels side to side, front to back. After market wheels are permitted. All wheels must have the same diameter, either 14" or 15" . Must have steel backer plates welded to center of wheel. Heavy studs and nuts must be used. Studs must extend through nuts .REINFORCED WHEELS RIGHT FRONT, OVERSIZED STUDS AND LUGS RIGHT FRONT ARE MANDATORY. No aluminum, mag or sport type wheels allowed. Racing wheels are permitted.

2. Only designated track tires are allowed. Hoosier Commanche 26.5 or 27.5 x 8.0 x15".

3. Maximum tire width 76" measured outside to outside.

4. Wheel spacers not allowed.

5. No use of bleed off or pop off to control tire pressure.

6. Tire durometer readings will be checked.

7. Safety Hubs, right front only are allowed. No wide five design

SUSPENSION:
1. Parts must be stock for make and model no heavy duty or limited product. Racing springs may be used; springs must mount in original spring mounting bracket position and location, only 4 springs are allowed per car and must be stock in appearance. Coil springs may be cut no adjustable shocks. Front shocks may be relocated, no coil over shocks. Spring is to be 3/4" diameter maximum.

2. Stock sway bar must be standard size. Sway bar link must be standard factory production type. Rear sway bar not allowed.

3. A-frames must remain stock and unaltered. After market A-Frames allowed, They must be stock dimension and in stock location

4. Stock type shocks only (non-adjustable).

5. Jack bolts are allowed.

6. NO MONO BALLS ALLOWED ON ANY PART OF YOUR CAR!!

7. Aftermarket front spindles allowed, must be stock dimension. No lowering or offsets allowed.

8. Tubular front upper arms permitted, must remain stock dimensions. Must use stock mount, non adjustable. Recommended upper control arms:
UBM15-0809-5R and UBM-0829-5L, all additional stock mount, non offset replacement arm length arm will be at the discretion of the officials. Left must be on the left, right must be on the right. Lower control arms: must be in the original OEM positions. Replacement Neoprene bushing allowed. No steel bushings. No offset aluminum or bearing type bushings in control arms.

9. Lower Control Arm: stock or aftermarket as in Johnson's part # JC1-09-02-003 ? R or R. or similar. (www.johnsonchassis.com)

REAR ENDS:
1. Locked rear ends only!! Limited slip rear ends are not allowed. No Detroit lockers. GM cars with 2-speed maximum gear ratio 308. GM cars with 3-speed maximum gear ratio 373 only AMC, Ford, or Mopar with 3-speed maximum gear ratio 390.

BRAKES:
1. Stock OEM brakes are mandatory on all 4 wheels and must be in 100% working order. No heavy duty or limited production parts. Duel brake system will be allowed. Must be mounted as close to stock as possible. No bias adjustments in reach of driver.

WEIGHT:
1. Car with 9.0-1 must weigh at least 3200 lbs. with a 56% left side weight. Cars with 9.5-1 must weigh 3300lbs with a 54% left side weight with driver al all times. No allowance for gas after race! No weight may be mounted in driver's compartment. Weight must be painted white with your car # in dark paint. 6 inch ride height. Weight must be on hood of car. Weight adjustments will be made over competitive cars.


ROLL CAGE:
1. Cars must have a complete, full roll cage around the driver that must be welded to the frame. Tubing for roll cages must be 1 3/4" out side diameter and must be made of steel. Minimum wall thickness of roll cage tubing is .090.

2. There must be at least 4 horizontal and 3 vertical bars within any remaining doors. All welds must have gussets.

3. All roll cage bars, side bars or other protrusions that driver may come in contact with must be properly padded.

4. Doors must be welded.

SEAT AND SHOULDER HARNESS:
1. All seats must be aluminum and must have headrest or high back seat. Seat must be attached to roll cage and frame with 6 piece grade 5 bolts 3/8 diameter and USS washers. Back of seat must be mounted to the roll cage.

2. Quick release 5 point restraint system that is designed for racing is mandatory. Also mandatory are minimum 3" wide lap belt and shoulder harness and a 2" wide antisubmarine strap with a central release. All safety belts must be no more than 2 years old and must have identification tag. All harnesses subject to tech inspectors approval.

3. Steering wheel hub must be padded.

4. Shoulder harness must be attached to the roll cage. Absolutely no original equipment belts.

5. HANS OR HUTCHINS HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINTS ARE MANDATORY!!

FUEL CELL:
1. All cars must have a fuel cell, 22 gallons maximum. Plastic cells are permitted, but must be enclosed in a steel container made of minimum 20 gauge steel. An 8 gallon cell is recommended.

2. Fuel cell must be mounted in center of trunk. No off set permitted. Bottom of fuel cell must be no lower then the centerline of the rear axle. Fuel cell must be securely fastened, bolted or strapped. Minimum outside diameter of 1" "X" welded beneath fuel cell, frame rail to rail.

THE IDEA BEHIND THIS DIVISION IS TO HOLD EXPENSES DOWN. WHILE THE ABOVE RULES OFFER A GOOD OUTLINE, NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE COVERED BY A WRITTEN RULE. IF YOU WANT TO RUN ANYTHING NOT COVERED ASK JOHN WHITE OR CHUCK DERIDDER FIRST BEFORE DOING SO. IF YOU DON'T AND ANYTHING IS FOUND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE RULED ILLEGAL. ANY ITEM FOUND ILLEGAL WILL BE CONFISCATED!!
