MALL SHOW TAKING SHAPE
GREECE, NY .... The Greece Ridge Mall is preparing for
their April 23-26, 2008, auto racing car show. Show
promoter Dan Hall has made arrangements with the mall to
have 25 cars from Spencer Speedway on hand. This includes
both oval and drag racing cars. “We are really close to
filling out our field for this event,” stated Hall. “We
only have a very limited few spots remaining.” Expected
to be part of the show are the 2007 NASCAR oval track
champions, Mike Leaty (Modified) and Jim Steffenhagen Jr.
(Street Stock). Also coming is the 2007 NASCAR New York
Points Champion, Tony Hanbury with his SST Modified. Other
oval track competitors have booked spots, including Jody
London, Mark Cline, Kevin Timmerman, Todd Smith, Chris
Ridsdale, Mark Tychoniewicz, Daryl Lewis Jr. and Matt
Lees. All of these drivers have open wheel modified type
cars. In the full fender division there is track champion
Kris Hillegeer and Courtney Bennett, representing the new
Super Six division.
A number of straight-line drag cars have also entered the
show. As many fans already know, on Fridays Spencer will
be featuring the SST Modifieds weekly, along with a full
program of Mod Lites, Street Stocks and Super Sixes. The
NASCAR Modifieds will be making between four and eight
special visits to the half mile oval. The Saturday show
will remain open for the drag cars. Saturday, April 26,
will be “Meet the Drivers” and “Media” day. The
drivers will be available to answer questions and meet the
fans.
Also expected to be on hand is Spencer promoter John
White, who will have NASCAR Licenses for sale and yearly
schedules to hand out. For more information you can
